Paul Klee Scratch Art

In this lesson we are using a technique that will mimic the printmaking techniques that Paul Klee used. We will be etching and carving into our crayon/wax surface instead of metal, linoleum, or wood (as in traditional printmaking). All you need is paper, crayons or oil pastels! I have added a video that gives a little printmaking overview if you or your child is interested!

Here are some images of scratch foam printing. You can purchase the sheets of foam on amazon or just use a piece of styrofoam you have at home. Use a tool like a pencil or wooden dowel to etch into the foam. Then paint the surface and press it onto paper!
